In order to protect our Conservatory Outlet brand and concept, we have to be strict about which companies can become dealers. Since, we started we have had to say ‘No’ to a number of companies wishing to join, because they have not met our criteria fully. Many of these companies simply buy trade frames from us, but without the added benefits.
Ideally, we are looking for companies who fulfil most, if not all, of the following requirements:
Focus – A dealer must be fully focussed upon growth – we are not looking for sleepy companies with little ambition.
Infrastructure – Dealers must have an infrastructure in place to manage potential growth, such as a sales team, an installation department, fitting and building teams, with a leader(s) focussed upon building the company.
Established – we are looking for companies who have been trading a few years with a good local reputation. We are looking for companies which are already doing so much good work, and just need a bit of Oomph!
Showroom – We believe a good conservatory and window showroom is a key element to growth, so we are looking for companies who already have or are ready to invest in a showroom.
A non-competing area – As we provide each dealer with an agreed trading area, we can no longer offer dealerships in areas such as Yorkshire, South Cumbria, and South Wales. Ideally, we are looking for dealers in other serviceable parts of the UK, where we do not currently have a dealer.
Commitment – if we are investing time and effort into a dealer, we ask for a degree of commitment. We do not ask for a trading contract, but we do ask for dealers to buy all frames through Conservatory Outlet, and not dual source.
Minimum spend – ideally we are looking for companies spending in excess of £15,000 per month with Conservatory Outlet. This would normally equate to 30-50 frames per week minimum.
Many of our dealers used to manufacture. Our service and product is ideal for companies who are disillusioned with manufacturing relatively low volumes of frames, and by manufacturing have taken their finger off sales and marketing. Let us make your frames, while you concentrate on growing your business!
If your company does not quite meet the above criteria we still offer a scaled down marketing package, and leads are still generated for non-dealers through our new website www.conservatoryTV.com.
